It’s getting towards the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018. It’s been an exciting year at Dolphin Academy because we launched our new Mermaid Swimming Classes and Aquanatal Yoga Classes. We wanted to take the opportunity to tell you about some exciting things we have planned in the lead up to Christmas and the new year which might help make the next few months special for you and your little Dolphin (or Dolphins!).
Christmas Baby-Mermaid Photoshoot (3rd December, 2-3PM)
Ever wanted your own mer-baby? We’re making this happen with our Christmas Mermaid Experience for Babies. We’re offering the chance for parents to dress their baby in our specially designed mermaid tails and meet our very own Mermaid Becky! It’s a wonderful alternative or complement to the usual “meet Santa Clause” events around Christmas. The event also includes a little Christmas Special parent and baby class to keep the babies warm and swimming between their photos!
The event will be organised with a professional photographer and will give you some unique pictures and memories to share!
Christmas Meet a Mermaid (3rd December, 3-4:30PM)
For 3-11 year olds we’ve got a Christmas themed Meet-A-Mermaid Party lined up. If your child is unable to meet the criteria for our Mermaid Swimming Lessons, we would love to invite them to join one of our Mermaid Experiences where you get to meet our very own mermaid!
The session will include a meet a mermaid experience with Mermaid Becky. Attendees will also learn water safety, mermaid moves and poses and then photo opportunities with mermaid glitters at the end of the session. There will be Christmas themed gifts, party games and photography to make the experience a really special part of your child’s festive season. There’s a maximum of 12 spaces and these events are normally very popular so book early.
January Mermaid Lessons (Starting 14th January)
And for those little dolphins that didn’t get the chance to join our popular Mermaid Swimming lessons in 2017 we’ve organised a new tranche as soon as possible in January to offer as many people as possible the chance to learn to swim, dress and communicate like a mermaid. And to make Christmas more special, for all bookings done before Christmas, we will send you a voucher and a personalised mermaid letter, both of which you can wrap and put under the tree as presents for you loved ones!
We do have some important requirements for learners who join our Mermaid Lessons so, to avoid disappointment, you’ll want to be sure your child: Is at least 6 years old; Is able to swim 25m; Is able to fully submerge their face whilst swimming; Is able to tread water in both shallow and deep water; Is able to lift their knees and turn 360 degrees in both directions; Is able to demonstrate basic dolphin kick for 5m. These requirements exist because whilst being really fun, mermaid swimming is also serious and skilled. If your child isn’t at this level yet you can book on one of our Meet a Mermaid sessions (like our Christmas party or the January Meet a Mermaid Experience).
January Meet a Mermaid Experience (6th of January)
If your little ones dream of being mermaid but are unable to swim, we have prepared another Meet a Mermaid Experience at the start of January! Just like with our Mermaid Lessons, if you book this Experience before Christmas, we will send you a voucher and a personalised mermaid letter, both of which you can wrap and put under the tree as special presents for you little dolphins!
